Einatmen, Ausatmen - und der Start von Ciao Miao

Also den gestrigen tag könnte man einem Erdrutsch ziemlich gleichsetzen - von der Präsidentschaftswahl in den USA zur politischen Schlammschlacht in Deutschland. Einatmen, Ausatmen und sich nicht beirren lassen.

Denn…..WIR HABEN PHANTASTISCHE NEWS IN EIGENER SACHE: ab sofort ist Ciao Miao online - unsere online Plattform und Community für moderne Tiertrauer. Und das an einem solchen Tag - aber was, wenn nicht Trauerbegleitung brauchen wir alle im Moment. Wenig…

Auch wenn wir alle gerade kollektiv über so vieles trauern, fokussieren wir uns bei Ciao Miao auf die die Trauer um und von (ja das gibt es auch) Tieren:

Wir bieten Einzel- und Gruppencoachings für Betroffene an (auch spezielle Kindersprechstunden), dazu Webinare und Schulungen für Pet Industry Professionals - von Tierärzten bis Dogwalkern - denn da ist in der praktischen Umsetzung wirklich noch Platz nach oben, wenn wir mal ganz ehrlich sind.

Und ausserdem gibt es monatlich ganz besondere Kooperationen mit Künstlern und Kreativen aus aller Welt, deren Resultat die schönsten Urnen und Erinnerungsstücke für unsere Fellnasen sind.

Aufgrund dieses Meilensteines und des gestrigen Tages, ist das ein spezieller Newsletter. Vor Weihnachten gibt es nochmal einen Trauer und Popkultur Fokus von uns.

📝 Ciao Miao x Onka Allmayer Beck

Wie gesagt, sind wir richtig stolz auf den frisch gelaunchten Ciao Miao Konzept Store, der in Zusammenarbeit mit führenden Künstlern und Designern ästhetisch schöne und zudem trauertechnisch sinnstiftende Produkte im Sortiment hat. Hier können Tierhalter einzigartige Urnen und Erinnerungsstücke finden, die das Thema Tiertrauer neu interpretieren.

Kreative der ersten Stunde ist die Wiener Künstlerin Onka Allmayer Beck, die zwei Urnen Modelle aus Keramik für Ciao Miao entworfen hat - “Cube” und “Biest”, erhältlich ab dem 10.11.2024 in limitierter Auflage und 3 verschiedenen Grössen und Farbkombinationen.

Aber wer ist Onka?

Onka schloss im Jahr 2004 ihr Studium am renommierten Central Saint Martin's College mit einem Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design Womenswear ab.Nach ihrem Abschluss zog es Onka nach Mailand, wo sie als Modedesignerin für Designer wie Carol Christian Poell, Strenesse und vor allem Giorgio Armani arbeitet. Während ihrer Karriere in Mailand definierte Onka ihre eigene künstlerische Stimme, Ästhetik und Arbeitsethik und findet den Mut, immer wieder etwas Neues auszuprobieren.

Im Jahr 2013 beschließt sie, ihre Arbeit in der Modebranche aufzugeben, um sich selbstständig zu machen. Onka arbeitete als Illustratorin für internationale Zeitschriften und Werbekunden und beginnt in ihrer Freizeit auf Tontellern und Schalen zu malen, so dass Keramik schnell zu ihrem Hauptinteresse wird.

Schon bald entwickelt Onka ihren eigenen Stil und ihre Keramikobjekte scheinen als kleine Persönlichkeiten lebendig zu werden. Ihre Kreationen sind dynamisch und haben einen hohen Wiedererkennungswert. Jedes Stück ist anders, denn sie sind alle handgefertigt.

Jeden Monat wird eine neue kreative Kooperation auf Ciao Miao vorgestellt - von Urnen bis hin zu kommissionierten Tier-Kunstwerken oder Trauer Kits  - in Kürze dabei auch gemeinschaftliche Produkte mit Studio Radical Softness, Heartfelt und Studio Fritz.

Inhalte, Exhale ... and the start of CIAO MIAO

Yesterday felt kind of like a proper landslide - from the presidential election in the US to the political mud-slinging in Germany. Breathe in, breathe out and don't be fazed. Because.....We HAVE PHANTASTIC NEWS OF OUR OWN:

Ciao Miao is now online - our online platform and community for modern animal grief. And on a day like this - but what if not grief counselling do we all need at the moment?

Even though we are all grieving collectively about so many things right now, at Ciao Miao we are focussing on grief about and by (yes, there is such a thing) animals: offering individual and group coaching sessions for those affected, plus webinars and training courses for pet bereavement professionals - from vets to dog walkers - because there's still room for improvement if we're honest.

And as another highlight, there are also very special monthly collaborations with artists and creatives from all over the world, resulting in the most beautiful urns and mementos for pets.

Because of this milestone and yesterday, this is a special newsletter and before Christmas there will be another grief and pop culture focus from us.

Until then, scream loudly in the forest, punch your pillows and do whatever makes you feel good. 📝 Ciao Miao x Onka Allmayer Beck

As we said, we are really proud of the newly launched Ciao Miao concept store, which, in collaboration with leading artists and designers, has aesthetically beautiful products in its range that are also meaningful in terms of mourning. Here, pet owners can find unique urns and mementos that reinterpret the theme of pet mourning.

The Viennese artist Onka Allmayer Beck, who designed two ceramic urn models for Ciao Miao - ‘Cube’ and ‘Biest’, available from 10.11.2024 in limited editions and 3 different sizes and colour combinations - was one of the first creative minds.

But who is Onka?

Onka graduated from the prestigious Central Saint Martin's College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design Womenswear. After graduating, Onka moved to Milan, where she worked as a fashion designer for designers such as Carol Christian Poell, Strenesse and, above all, Giorgio Armani. During her career in Milan, Onka defined her own artistic voice, aesthetic and work ethic, finding the courage to always try something new.

In 2013, she decided to leave her job in the fashion industry to start her own business. Onka worked as an illustrator for international magazines and advertisers and started painting on clay plates and bowls in her spare time, so ceramics quickly became her main interest.

Onka soon develops her own style and her ceramic objects seem to come alive as little personalities. Her creations are dynamic and highly recognisable. Each piece is different because they are all handmade.
